Botanical Gardens & Bioparks: Nature to Discover Near Trento

12.05.2026

There are mornings here in Trento when the fresh air descending from the mountains doesn’t invite you to challenge the slopes. These are the days when hiking boots can stay in the room, and the desire is not to “conquer” a peak, but to be enchanted by a landscape.
So forget heavy backpacks, but bring your camera. Around Hotel Be Place, there are corners of the world where time seems to have paused, allowing blossoms to bloom at their own pace.
Here are our favorite spots for a slow day among botanical gardens and bioparks.

Viote Alpine Botanical Garden

If you take the road up to Monte Bondone, after about half an hour you’ll find yourself suspended on a plateau that looks like a painting. Here you’ll discover the Viote Alpine Botanical Garden, a living archive of mountain flora from around the world.
Walking among its rocky flowerbeds and wetlands in late spring means immersing yourself in an explosion of colors that contrasts with the dramatic outline of the Brenta Dolomites on the horizon.

Bortolotti Garden (Ciucioi)

Some places seem as if they were born from the pen of a 19th-century novelist. The Bortolotti Garden, better known as the Ciucioi, is one of them. In Lavis, just a few minutes from us, this incredible vertical architecture rises from the rock.
It’s a labyrinth of hanging greenhouses, loggias, and pergolas climbing the hillside, born from the romantic vision of a man who wanted to merge botany and imagination. Stepping inside feels like crossing a threshold in time. The visit becomes a story, a slow discovery of hidden corners overlooking the valley below.

Parco della Pieve

Sometimes, the deepest beauty lies in a well-kept meadow and the shade of a centuries-old tree. Parco della Pieve is where locals go to rediscover peace. You won’t find postcard-perfect dramatic views, but a “gentle” nature that invites you to pause. It’s the perfect place to bring that book you left on your hotel nightstand, for an impromptu picnic, or simply to watch the light filtering through the leaves. Here, the destination is tranquility itself.

Rose Garden

If your visit coincides with the awakening of spring, there’s a place you simply can’t miss. The Rose Garden is a pure sensory experience. Walking among ancient and botanical varieties is not just a delight for the eyes, but a journey through forgotten fragrances. It’s a corner of the world that naturally invites you to slow down. Photography lovers will find endless details here; those seeking refuge will discover a harmony of colors that reconnects them with the world.

Arco Arboretum (Archducal Park)

Heading a little further south, towards Lake Garda, you’ll encounter the Habsburg charm of the Archducal Arboretum Park. Strolling among palms, giant cedars, and centuries-old sequoias gives the feeling of traveling across continents without ever leaving Trentino.
This garden, created to impress the nobility of the past, still preserves a solemn elegance today. The softer light of Lake Garda wraps around the exotic species, creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere.

These gardens and parks invite you to become part of them for a few hours.
Staying at Be Place means having the freedom to choose: one day you can challenge the peaks, the next you can lose yourself in the scent of a rose or the shade of a centuries-old arboretum. Because Trentino can also be a delicate story—one best read at a slow pace, walking along the paths of a garden.
