From the Vineyards to the Cellar: Weekend Experiences<\/strong><\/h2>\n

During the harvest months, there are plenty of opportunities to experience the countryside up close. Along the Trentino Wine and Flavours Route, a number of wineries and distilleries take turns opening their doors every weekend, welcoming visitors who want to discover what lies behind every bottle.<\/p>\n

The experience often begins in the morning, walking through the vineyards alongside the people who work the land every day. At some wineries, you can pick the grapes by hand, while at others the focus is on observation and learning. You will discover how to recognise different grape varieties, from Teroldego and Marzemino to Chardonnay, used to produce Trentodoc sparkling wines, and gain a deeper understanding of the care and attention that go into every harvest.<\/p>\n

From the hills surrounding the city, you can also venture a little further afield. In Vallagarina, for example, visits take you through historic settings and fascinating estates such as Tenuta San Leonardo, as well as wineries including Balter and Letrari. On the Valsugana Plateau, meanwhile, you will discover small wineries deeply connected to the local area, such as Cantina Cenci, Romanese and Terre del Lagorai. If you are looking for something even more unusual, in Val Rendena the \u201cVineyards Trail\u201d offers a walking route among dry-stone walls and small mountain vineyards, providing an insight into the region\u2019s heroic high-altitude viticulture.<\/p>\n

From the vineyards, the experience then continues indoors. Surrounded by the aroma of fermenting must and the quiet atmosphere of the barrel rooms, you can witness the first stages of winemaking, guided by local winemakers and oenologists.<\/p>\n

Wine Tastings in the Vineyards, Cellars or Historic Palaces<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After time spent in the fields, it is time to taste. Many wineries combine their guided tours with dedicated tasting experiences, pairing their wines with traditional local products, from mountain cheeses to regional cured meats.<\/p>\n

Some estates provide picnic baskets and blankets so you can enjoy a meal among the vines at sunset, while others organise outdoor tastings overlooking the valley. But the wine experience is not limited to the countryside. Back in the city centre, in the heart of historic Trento, you will find Palazzo Roccabruna, a beautiful Renaissance residence that houses the Trentino Provincial Enoteca. Among historic rooms and a collection of more than 600 labels, you can take a journey through the history of local winemaking, tasting some of the finest wines from the region under the guidance of expert sommeliers.<\/p>\n
